McCann is a New York native who graduated early from Tisch School of the Arts at New York University with a BFA in Drama in the spring of 2006. At NYU, Maia studied with Angela Peitropinto, Robert Bella, and Elizabeth Hess among others. She also met Rob Decina in a class shortly before her graduation, which is how she landed her current role on the CBS soap, Guiding Light. On stage, she has worked with myriad alternative theatre companies including Witness Relocation, Room 5003, and the Inbred Hybred Collective.
